Telegram is packed with features that go far beyond basic messaging. Most users only scratch the surface of what the app can do. Whether you've been using Telegram for years or just getting started, these hidden features will change how you use the platform every day.
1. Scheduled Messages
You can schedule any message to be sent at a specific time — perfect for sending reminders, announcements, or birthday wishes at just the right moment. Long-press the send button and select Schedule Message to pick your date and time.
2. Silent Messages
Need to send a message without waking someone up? Long-press the send button and choose Send Without Sound. The recipient gets the message but their phone won't buzz or ring.
3. Saved Messages as a Personal Notepad
Your "Saved Messages" chat is one of Telegram's most underrated tools. Use it as a personal cloud notepad — save links, drafts, images, and files that sync instantly across all your devices.
4. Folder Organization
If you're in dozens of chats, folders are a lifesaver. Go to Settings → Chat Folders to create custom folders for work, family, news channels, or any category you like. You can even pin different chats within each folder.
5. Inline Bots
You don't need to switch apps to use bots. Type @gif, @youtube, or @wiki directly in any chat's message box to search and share content inline without leaving the conversation.
6. Quick Reply Shortcuts
In any chat, swipe right on a message to instantly reply to that specific message. This keeps conversations organized and makes it clear what you're responding to — especially useful in busy group chats.
7. Spoiler Text Formatting
Want to hide a plot twist or surprise? Highlight your text and apply the Spoiler format. The text will be blurred until the reader taps on it. This also works for images!
8. Multiple Accounts
Telegram lets you run multiple accounts on a single device without logging out. Go to Settings and tap your profile name to add another account. Switch between them instantly from the sidebar.
9. Nearby People & Groups
Telegram has a built-in location-based feature to find people and public groups near you. Go to Contacts → Find People Nearby — useful for local communities, events, or meetups.
10. Auto-Delete Messages
Set a timer on any chat so messages disappear automatically after a chosen period (from 1 second to 1 week). This is available in both private chats and secret chats for extra privacy control.
